Project focus: utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) methods to assess different types of building damage caused by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and fire.
In this project, an uncertain-aware decision support system has been developed to help the search and rescue teams find the damaged locations more efficiently and accurately.

Project title: Applying Machine Vision and Artificial Intelligence to Maritime Transportation. (group 38)
Project focus: using edge computing devices (Nvidia Jetsons) to automatically recognize shipping container codes.
My role: supervising students to accomplish the capstone project, working as Data Scientist at our collaborator (Canscan Inc), and connecting the student team with the company.

The cloud-based automated shipping container code recognition system
Time: Jan 2019 - Sep 2021
Project title: A cloud-based ecosystem for predictive maintenance and management of shipping containers
Project focus: using cloud computing resources to automatically recognize shipping container codes.
My role: working as a data scientist (the only one who focuses on container codes) at Canscan inc, training code detection and recognition models, and deploying the models on AWS, sending data to MySQL.

The mobile-based object detection, tracking, and information fusion from RGB and Infrared images/video streams
Time: Feb 2020 - Mar 2022
Project title: Multimodal input surveillance & tracking
Project focus: detecting and recognizing objects 24 hours/day from the view of an airplane, fusing RGB and Infrared information, synchronizing Geo-location and imagery information, deploying trained AI models on mobile computing devices (Nvidia Jetsons)
My role: working as a data scientist with other engineers/data scientists (a group of approximately 6 people) to accomplish the project
